The World Health
Organization declared a Swine Flu H1N1
pandemic Thursday 11th of June 2009 — the first global flu
epidemic in
41 years. The new H1N1 flu strain — is a lethal combination
of swine,
avian, and human viruses. The H5N1 Bird Flu remains a threat.
Most
of
the research into the H5N1 & H1N1 virus suggests that this
virus
actually
overstimulates the immune system, and that the body kills itself while
trying to eliminate the avian flu infection. Avian
influenza related
pneumonia, is caused by a massive inflammatory
cytokine storm (or inflammatory cascade) which the virus induces.

Influenza (AI)
viruses are type A influenza viruses in the
virus family of Orthomyxoviridae and are subdivided into subtypes based
on hemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N) protein spikes from the
central virus core. re ere a16 H types, each with up to 9 N subtypes,
yielding a potential for 144 different H and N combinations. In
addition, all AI viruses fall into one of 2 pathotypes: low (LPAI) and
high (HPAI) pathogenicity, based on how dangerous to poultry.
Speculative
Treatments
Scientists doubt a cure for bird flu will be
found in the close future, yet recent experiments have shown that a
number of treatments can improve the survival rate of people infected
with the H5N1 & H1N1 Virus. Among these treatments can be
mentioned
a few
which have shown promising results. These are: ASAP,
A
drug Cocktail
and PENZIM.
